Hello,
is there any possibility to upload new u-boot into DNP9200?
I mean upload it in some lower layer than via existing u-boot. I know that u-boot could be rewritten in flash from u-boot running in RAM. Problem is that I need tu modify u-boot and in any case of its failure I won't be able to recover board. That's why I need some other way to do that.

Thanx, Kamil

You can build the boot code for executing in RAM, and load into RAM for testing.

But for the final test must build for Flash, and store on the same place of existing boot loader.

There exist no other way. And yes, if you made an error, the DIL/NetPC must recover with special hardware adapter.

Hi, now I'm back to do this job again Wink
This is a good idea and I'd like to follow it, but I have few problems:

1) I'm not able to build u-boot project. It starts well, but stops always while proceeding file /lib_generic/vsprintf.c:
{standard input}: Assembler messages:
{standard input}:0: Warning: arm-linux-gcc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 11
make[1]: *** [vsprintf.o] Error 1
Gcc version is 2.95.2, part of DNP9200 CD we were provided with.

2) What is the difference between building code for executing in RAM vs. flash? Does this differ only in loading the same code to address in RAM or in flash?

3) I wasn't successfull in building even hello_world.bin exapmle standalone aplication. I assume this is some problem with ld -Ttext option, but whatever I tried didn't work and machine stucked after go command. Hello_world.bin works only if I remove all strings from its source - then it is executed and returns correct rc value.

Thanks for any help
