New coLinux CD-ROM for the Com/PC

To develop own C/C++ applications for the Embedded Gateway Linux (EGL/2) of a Com/PC, an appropriate compiler and further resources (linker, debugger, libraries etc.) are required.

With the new coLinux CD-ROM such a tool chain can be installed and used with Windows XP. The coLinux is based on a 2.6 Linux kernel and contains the GCC 3.3.5 as well as all other auxiliary tools. The CD-ROM is here and now available.

M2M-Gateway for Multi-Hop Mesh Networking and LAN

In M2M applications wired and wireless network concepts often come together. For the simple integration of both worlds the communication module ADNP/9200 is ideally suited.

With its ESL expansion layer this compact 32-bit computer offers various interfaces for Wireless LAN, GSM/GPRS, Bluetooth and IEEE 802.15.4/ZigBee-based Multi-Hop Mesh Networking, to bridge very large distances with a relatively small transmitting power. In a mesh network the ADNP/9200 can act optionally as coordinator or as router.

Within the Flash of the ADNP/9200 an Embedded Linux with the appropriate drivers, TCP/IP protocol stack, Netfilter/iptables-based firewall, OpenVPN and several servers is stored. In addition to two Ethernet interfaces there are four UARTs, three USB interfaces (2x host, 1x device), one 16-bit bus interface and numerous GPIOs available.

Storing Machine Data directly in an SQL Data Base

The vertical integration of machine data into corporate data bases is normally a multistage process at the present time. Beside an I/O system as data source a gateway computer with special software licenses is still required. Due to the complex drivers mostly complete Industrial PCs are used as gateways.

With the SQL driver kit for the Machine Terminals TRM/416 and TRM/816 as well as the Device Servers of the IGW family direct data base connections from the field level become possible. The drivers use 10/100 Mbps LAN interfaces so that the systems only need to be integrated into the corporate Ethernet LAN.

The SQL driver kit transfers any machine data in real time directly to superior data bases, MES- or ERP systems. This solution redundantizes classic gateways as link between the machine data collection and the IT level completely. Thus a clear reduction of costs and an increased function- and transaction security result.
