|Verfasst am: 05.05.2006, 14:53 Titel: Rules for the Use of this Forum
|It is a great pleasure, that you want to join in our forum!
This is the right place for questions and answers as well as for suggestions and criticism regarding SSV products. In order that every user may benefit from this forum, there are a few rules for its use.
Should a user in spite of warnings of our moderators disregard these rules repeatedly, we reserve the right to block this user permanently for the forum.
For any kind of postings (questions, answers or any other topics) it is imperative, that nobody is offended or otherwise affronted. It is not what you say, but how you say it. The author is always responsible for the content of his own postings.
Postings with content about and/or links to illegal activities, pirate copies, [Wort gesperrt] and suchlike will be deleted by our moderators and we reserve the right to take legal action if necessary.
Please avoid postings with negative criticism or bad valuations about other companies. That applies to postings about companies or products with promotional nature too.
Postings with links to Ebay or other online shops will be also deleted.
If your question does not fit in any of the existing forums, please address to one of our moderators with a private message (PM). We will then create a new forum or try to help you in a different way.
Please Search and Read First – Then Ask
Before posting a question to one of our products, please look in the corresponding forum and/or use the search function primarily, if there is not already written an answer somewhere. So ask only, if you cannot find an answer, please.
How to Pose a Question Right
If you cannot find an answer in the forum, then pose your question. Please regard to…
…post the question in the right forum
…choose an adequate headline
…describe the problem as precisely as possible
…quote possible error messages, provide links to screenshots or files and give other relevant information.
Statements like „It doesn’t work“ or „Help!“ do not help on anybody.
Do You Feel Offended?
If you feel offended, please inform a moderator with a private message (PM). We will take charge of the problem and try to clear the issue. Please stay always businesslike and avoid personal affronts.
Length of Signatures
If you setup a signature for your postings, please make sure that it is not too long, because it makes it more difficult to read the postings.
Topic-Bumping – Or: Please Be Patient…
Please wait at least 24 hours before you answer your own questions, to place them in the top of the topic overview again. A good answer needs some time. The minimum time-lag between two bumps is also 24 hours.
Posting of Code
If you want to post program code, please apply to Occam’s razor and enclose it always with [code]-blocks. Is the code longer than 50 lines, please copy the code as txt-file on a server and provide a link in your posting. If you want to post an error message where line numbers are quoted, please post the code of the corresponding line numbers too.
Private messages (PM) are not for support questions or for hints to not yet answered topics. The PMs are basically for confident conversation between the users, off the forum. If you have been offended or have discovered any other violation, please inform a moderator with a PM.
Last But Not Least
Please consider that users and moderators are only human beings, who may make mistakes. You cannot demand from a forum and its users a 24/7 support or problem solving in a few hours.
If you have criticism, questions or suggestions to these rules or the forum in general, please do not hesitate to address to one of our moderators. We always bother to support you best possible way.
We wish you an informative visit of the SSV support forum!
