I've been playing with the configuration files in /rw/etc/ssvconfig/config and I have done something wrong.

LAN1 and LAN2 ports doesn't answer and com1 port is looking for a modem.

I can access u-boot durin boot process, but I lack the firmware to upload to the device....

Is there a way to get the original firmware and download it through the serial port?

Thanks in advance

Valentino

You can try the short way to restore the system configuration and the login on serial port.

  1. Be shure, that the jumper for Remote Console Mode (RCM) is set into position "ON". If you have a full Null-Modem cable (5 wire or more with handshakes), then the jumper can be plugged in position "EXT" also. "EXT is our factory default.
  2. Please use a Null-Modem cable, connect it on COM1 and the other end to your desktop.
  3. Run a serial terminal program (like PuTTY.exe or Hyperterminal) with settings 115200,N,8,1 and no handshake.
  4. Power on the system and wait for the boot message
    Code:
Hit any key to stop autoboot:  3

  5. Press any key to stop the boot process
  6. Type this commands in the Uboot command line:
    Code:
    set bootargs ${bootargs} !ssv_autoinit
    boot

  7. Inside Linux login as root with an empty password
  8. Run these commands to restore default configuration:
    Code:
    mount /dev/mtdblock3 /mnt -t jffs2
    rm -f /mnt/etc/inittab
    cd /mnt/etc/ssvconfig
    cp -a default/* config/
    reboot

After the boot LAN1 has the IP-address 192.168.0.126.
If that doesn't fit for you, log in at the serial console again and set you manual IP-address:
Code:
ssvconfig set network SSV_ETH0_IP 192.168.0.126
/etc/ssvconfig/init.d/network restart

If that not helps, we send you the firmware installer.
