Wireless Device Server IGW/400-PROFI

Modular Wireless Device Server for ProfibusDP data integration.

The IGW/400-PROFI is a modular system that can used to setup an intelligent wireless bridge between an IEEE 802.11b/g-compatible wireless network and ProfibusDP network versions DPV1 and DPV2. The IGW/400-PROFI thereby assumes the role of a ProfibusDP slave.

In order to be as flexible as possible to the particular needs of the user, the functionality of the IGW/400-PROFI can be customized with loadable scripts depending on the specifications. In addition to a fully protected RS232 interface and a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet interface on the back, the IGW/400-PROFI has an RS484-ProfibusDP connector and an RS232 debug interface on the front for convenient script debugging.

This setup makes the IGW/400-PROFI suitable for use as a coprocessor with its own interface for advanced data exchange functions between TCP/IP and ProfibusDP networks. Common tasks, e.g. data synchronization between actual Profibus values with values already saved in databases, are also possible, such as logging tasks with an IGW/400-PROFI polled by a master.

Scripts can be used to easily configure the IGW/400-PROFI. The debug interface can process generated scripts incrementally or data can be monitored and manipulated. The necessary programming environment to develop own scripts is part of the Starter Kit.

Power supply for the IGW/400-PROFI can range from 6 up to 30 VCD. The robust metal housing (131 x 70 x 26 mm) is also available for stationary use with DIN rail or wall mounting.
