eSOM/9263
32-Bit ARM9 System-on-Module

The System-on-Module eSOM/9263 is based on an Atmel 32-bit AT91SAM9263 ARM9 SoC (System-on-Chip) with 192 MHz clock speed. The memory consists of 32 MB NOR Flash, 256 MB NAND Flash and 128 MB SDRAM. An SD/MMC card slot serves as Flash memory extension. In addidtion there are an LCD controller, 4-wire touchscreen interface, 1x 10/100 Mbps Ethernet, 3x UART, 2x CAN, 2x USB 2.0 host, 1x SPI, 1x I2C and further interfaces available.

The eSOM/9263 is delivered with an already preinstalled Linux within the NOR-Flash. X-Server, Web browser and other software modules are stored in the NAND Flash or on an SD/MMC card. For external expansions a simple generic 16-bit bus can be used, which allows the easy connection to typical peripheral devices. The eSOM-200 conform module dimensions are compact 80 x 50 mm. The 200 pins of the module are provided by two FX8C connectors.

100% Web based User Interfaces

The eSOM/9263 was especially developed to realize 100% web based user interfaces. Until now it was necessary to develop at least two different HMI interfaces. One served as an on-site interface for the LCD. The other was accessible with a Web browser via Ethernet. In some newer applications a smartphone app (e.g. for an Apple iPhone) was aditionally developed as a third HMI interface to enable wireless remote access.

To solve this babylonian HMI situation the eSOM/9263 is delivered with an Embedded Web server and an Embedded Web browser. In addition SSV offers an integration framework. The integrated browser supports LCDs from 3.5" diagonal and QVGA resolution. This enables web based front panel HMI interfaces. As a result the same user interface can be used local via display as well as via Web browser from afar. Even the JavaScript-capable Web browser of a smartphone can easily access the HMI interface.
